Ixbalanque School is an educational institution specializing in teaching Spanish to people of different nationalities, who visit Central America for tourism and/or business.
We offer a high quality service out of our 15 years of experience, and a team of professional teachers. Our wide premises with capacity to attend 30 students; are located in Copan Ruinas, Honduras Central America.
Copan Ruinas is a very peaceful and fun town, located on a safe region, with an easy access and with all the services the student needs to feel comfortable; it has a rich and natural culture. The inhabitants present their visitors one of the most authentic picture of Honduran, and Central American culture, which gives the opportunity to relate with a great diversity of human, urban and rural aspects of great informative and educative value.
Our students will find here from
the famous Mayan Ruins of Copan to beautiful and
Archeology Anthropology Ethnic groups from Honduras Social themes from Honduras Counting with experts in these areas.
Our School cooperates with Honduras Development, that’s why it offers the opportunity for our students to get involved in different activities for our development.
The present offer aims at: Realizing relationships between us, Our program is for 4 weeks and is for all levels in which the student will learn Spanish language, It allows visitors to experience a variety of Hondurans culture and geography. Also our students can be involved in the volunteer opportunity. We also offer a tour per week to all the different places of tourist interest of Copan Ruins, in which they will learn about Honduran Culture. Methods and Teachers
We apply the
latest teaching methods; that are modern, fast and interactive, in which the
creative participation of the student is the key during the learning process of
the Spanish language We also employ the best team of teachers, 13 years of experience, specialized staff and with a style that is been demanded by the different nationalities that visit us. Friendly and dinamic families that facilitate a bond with the students of the multi-fold social and cultural activities that take place in our environment. More than just our academic proposal, the immersion in the Spanish language and sharing with Honduran families; IXBALANQUE offers to their students a close capture of the latest information in Archeology, Sociology and Anthropology of the Mayan Culture, carried by conferences presented by scientists of a great professional record and international recognition.
The school promotes visits of the students to the most relevant and archeological sites on the Copan valley, coming along with tourist guides and well known professionals of history and archeology directly involved with scientific investigations that are actually done. In the same way, the school realize some tours through the indian communities with the purpose that the students can have the opportunity to make contact with the Mayan descendents that built the Copan Empire and share with them social – cultural traditions that still exist. Volunteer Work and Community Projects
Ixbalanque offers its students a remarkable opportunity to get involved in the Copán community. Interested students can participate in and support the economic, social and cultural development process in both the urban and rural populations of the Copán region. Your volunteer efforts will truly immerse you in different local activities. Our program can involve you in a wide range of community projects, including ecology and the environment, health, education, religion, and children’s issues.

Copan Ruinas is based
on the highest point of interest on the Mayan route by the great care they take
on their territory: the famous Mayan Ruins which are archeological monumental
structures and sculptures full of history, the express in a marvelous way the
superior stage of development, reached by the Mayan culture at the Spanish
arrival to our lands.
